Giles Ferris BSc (Hons) MRICS
Giles Ferris was born in Sherington near Newport Pagnell and went to School locally in Bedford. He went on to attend De Montfort University and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998 whilst working for Luton Borough Council. Giles subsequently gained considerable experience when he moved on to work for Douglas Duff, a local firm of Chartered Surveyors. Becoming a member of the professional department, Giles advised corporate clients throughout the country on a wealth of commercial property matters. The opportunity to acquire Stimpsons Eves in 2005 allowed Giles to develop a well known and highly respected firm of Chartered Surveyors, injecting new life and enthusiasm. Giles has worked hard to create a more client friendly practice which he felt was considerably lacking in the market place at the time. Giles is married with a young family and given the opportunity is a very keen skier, and surfer, and is a reasonably proficient shot with a twelve bore! However Giles’ true passion lies in the refurbishment of classic cars and he is currently very proud of his latest project, a 1978 Volkswagen campervan which he hopes to restore to its former glory.
Nick Bosworth BA (Hons) PGDipSurv
Nick has worked in property mainly in the residential and commercial sectors in the Milton Keynes region for 12 years. During this time he has built up a wealth of knowledge about the area and has brought this experience to the commercial agency department of Stimpsons Eves. He has recently achieved the grade of Merit for a Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying from the College of Estate Management and is now looking to embark on his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) with a view to achieving Chartered Surveyor status. Martin Patchett BSc (Hons)
Martin was educated at The Portsmouth Grammar School and at The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He has worked in Manchester and London for 20 years before moving to an Oxfordshire Lettings and Commercial Property Agency where he was in charge of the Commercial Agency business for eight years before transferring this business to Stimpsons Eves in January 2010. Martin specializes in agency work and has established a wide and varied client base in the local area around Bicester, Banbury and Buckingham adding to the established business of Stimpsons Eves around the Milton Keynes area. A member of the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, he has taken part in many well known regattas over the years, including Cowes, Cork Week and 15 Round The Island Races facing the navigational challenge of "Start at Cowes and keep the Island to the port, try not to hit the forts"
Jonathan Griggs BSC (Hons) Dip DEA Dip NDEA
To assist us with the EPC requirement we have hired a new consultant, Jonathan Griggs. Jonathan was born in Scotland, but spent his childhood years in Yardley Gobion, Northants and Wallingford, Oxon. He studied Agriculture at Seale Hayne College, Devon, but then embarked on a career in IT, working for Express Dairies and then for PolyGram. Following a move to Milton Keynes in 1996, he joined a local company which provides energy data management services to the electricity industry.
In 2006 Jonathan took a career break and renovated a period property in the local area. He then retrained to become an energy assessor, initially in the residential sector and then broadening his qualifications to include commercial property.
Since the launch of Energy Performance Certificates in 2007, Jonathan has provided a professional service to local property agents and solicitors and now brings his experience and expertise to Stimpsons Eves. When not surveying buildings, Jonathan likes to be up a mountain skiing, in a church tower ringing bells, or walking his dog in the countryside.
