Stimpsons Eves work in conjunction with a company who are leading providers of Health, Safety and Environmental Services in the UK and therefore we are very proud to offer our service of Asbestos Reports carried out by the company.

Asbestos is a well known industrial and public health hazard which was extensively used in building construction in the UK from the 1950’s through to the mid – 1980’s. The product was mainly used for heat insulation and fireproofing but widely used in a variety of installations. Asbestos has been used in over 2000 products worldwide.

The HSE state that any building built before the year 2000 could contain asbestos and therefore regulations are in place to manage asbestos in buildings. Any building that has a commercial aspect to it needs to be assessed in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and the Management of Health and Safety Work Regulations 1999.

Any failure to be compliant with these regulations can lead to heavy fines and custodial sentences for the duty holder.

It is accepted that asbestos materials in good condition are safe unless asbestos fibres become airborne when damaged therefore we can provide the following services:

Compliant Management Surveys: - Risk assessments on location, condition, likelihood or exposure, live register and management.

Refurbishment or Demolition Asbestos Surveys: - Specific surveys to assist in identifying asbestos materials prior to major works projects.

Monitoring: - Ensuring compliance with the Regulations and control limits for exposure. Re-assurance monitoring and 4 stage clearance testing during asbestos removal works.

Laboratory Analysis: - Analytical identification of asbestos materials in our UKAS accredited laboratories.

Disposal & Acquisition Assessments: - Potential liabilities analysis prior to sale or purchase.
